Mtito Andei Cloud School Project – Update
The introduction of solar media tablets in Mtito Andei as the medium of education for KENSWED TVET’s Cloud School students has brought about remarkable change by empowering individuals through skill development.
The access to quality educational resources, vocational skill enhancement and entrepreneurship opportunities have collectively propelled the community towards a brighter future.
As these solar powered tablets continue to impact lives positively, the people of Mtito Andei are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to create sustainable change, unlocking their full potential and contributing to the development of their community.
On July 1st, 2023, KENSWED TVET visited their cloud school students in Nthunguni village, Mtito Andei, to monitor the progress of their first cohort who had completed their vocational programs and were soon to sit for their exams.
They were joined by representatives from SolarRun, China (Solar Media Manufacturer) and The Standard Media Group, who were on site to document the follow up for the impact of the solar media device in last mile communities.
The TVET also disbursed new tablets to its second cohort of students.
Feedback from Cohort 1 Cloud School students was inspiring and encouraging with some students reporting that they have already opened up small businesses and are now earning income thanks to the skills they have developed through the vocational courses on the solar media device.
