Mama Layla is embarking on an initiative “Donate a Light Campaign”aimed at providing needy school children in rural Kenya with solar study lights.
These children have no access to electricity or clean energy and therefore, through the initiative they will receive clean and affordable solar study lights which will enable them to study at night or early morning.
By providing solar lighting, we are creating a conducive learning environment for students to study at home. As a result, their performance in school will greatly improve contributing to their overall success and move them closer towards achieving their dreams.
Mama Layla working alongside the local government administrators is identifying children in need within remote schools in Kenya. We are also working closely with headmasters, teachers and pupils in environmental and community development clubs in select schools.
Through the sister school initiative, pupils and parents from select schools will partner by donating student lights to those pupils in need within these schools.
After a donation has been made, Mama Layla will distribute the donated solar lights to the school children in the rural schools. The partner schools can plan to visit the students in the rural schools to see how they are benefitting from the lights.
